Description

This is a 16th and 17th century timber-framed house, largely built of painted brick with plain tile roofs. It is composed of an original range behind a 17th-century west end crosswing, with a smaller projecting wing on the south front at the east end. The original range is cruck-framed, with full crucks exposed in the east end gable. The south front features a dormer window above a door set between two casement windows, and a projecting wing to the right, which has close studding to the ground floor with modern leaded casements and a square frame above with four small windows. The north side displays close studding, a door, and three modern leaded casement windows, with three dormers above, the central one replacing a chimney. The west end crosswing is square framed and has a large side wall outside stack. A four-light window is visible on the west side. Gable ends feature four-light ground floor windows, two small pairs of square lights above, and two-light attic windows. The roof structure incorporates queen post trusses.
