Description

Holdfast Manor is a house dating from around 1700, which recased an earlier building and was extended to the rear around 1800. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped plain tile roof. The building has an H plan layout, with two storeys and an attic. The projecting wings each contain one window range and have hipped dormers, while the centre section has five windows and three dormers, along with an eaves chimney stack. A floor band is present in the centre, and the windows are wooden cross windows with gauged brick heads. The west wing has windows that differ in proportion from those in the east wing. A projecting brick porch with a pedimented doorcase is a later addition.

On the west side, there are two side wall stacks and a long stair window. The rear centre section appears to have originally been early 18th century, featuring a parapet and a stone cornice that is visible above an early 19th century three-window range with a reset 18th-century doorcase. The side wings have coped parapets and sash windows with gauged brick heads; the left wing is a recasing of an earlier range, while the right wing is likely all early 19th century. Inside, there is one room with a 17th-century beamed ceiling and a stone fireplace, as well as an early 18th-century staircase in the west wing.
