Description
Church Lodge is a building that was likely constructed in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. It serves as a lodge to Hanley Court and is now used as a house. The structure is made of sandstone rubble and features Welsh slate roofs with broad eaves. It has a circular plan, which includes a two-bay south wing that has a central chimney and a brick ridge stack. The building is part two storey and part single storey.
On the north side of the circular section, there is a three-light casement window on both the ground and first floors, with the ground floor window having a cambered head. The circular part is topped with a shallow conical roof that has a cross finial. The west elevation of the south wing features a three-light window and a two-light window, along with a part-glazed door to the left; all of these openings have cambered heads. There are also 20th-century brick lean-to additions at the south gable end.
