Description

The Old School Lodge and The Old School House are a former school dating from the 19th century. They are constructed of painted blue lias stone with a plain tile roof and coped gables. The building comprises a one-storey and attic front range and a single-storey rear schoolroom. The front range features a rear wall stack. The central doorway has a hoodmould stepped over a blank plaque, set within a wooden doorcase with a Tudor arch and a two-light overlight. On either side of the door are two-light windows with small panes, and there is a two-light half-dormer window to the left. A mullion and transom window is located at the south end of the front wall. The rear wing has a door and three windows, each with two lights and small panes, featuring flush voussoirs. A north end addition extends from the front range. The buildings are listed for group value with the Church of St Mary.
