Description
Parsonage Farmhouse is a 16th-century farmhouse that has undergone significant alterations. It features some timber-framing with renewed red brick panels, along with sections made of 19th-century blue lias stone and red brick. The roofs are covered with plain tiles, and there is one ridge stack with triple diagonal shafts. The building has one storey and an attic. The original part of the farmhouse has a gable end facing north and has been extended to form a T shape. The north gable is square framed on the front and sides, with renewed three-light casements. The south gable is modern and constructed of red brick. This southern section includes a former open hall supported by two cruck trusses, one of which is truncated at the base, while the other has a renewed apex and collar. Attached to the west is a 19th-century range made of blue lias stone, which has a west end stack and a gable facing south. To the east, a modern brick one-window range connects to a 17th-century square framed range consisting of eight panels by four panels, with the south side encased in 19th-century brick. This section is two storeys high and has a two-window range.
