BRANSFORD CP Bransford Mill, approximately 30 metres north-west of Bransford House

GV II

Water-powered mill. Early C19. Brick and timber-framing with hipped tile roof. Comprises two parallel ranges running north/south. One storey, built across slope with a lower level under northern end. The south wall has a central doorway with a window opening to its left. The left-hand part of the east wall is of brick and has two casement windows and a brick dentil course. The right-hand part of the wall is of weatherboarded timber-framing supported on a sill beam above ground level. It has a casement window, and a doorway to the right. The west wall of the building had partly collapsed at time of survey (August 1986). On the ridge of the roof of the eastern range is a timber louvre. Interior: roofs have bolted king-post trusses. An iron winch remains. The lower level was only partly visible. A previous survey in September 1973 stated that a wheel and gearing remained below.
