Description

Stonehouse Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with extensions added in the late 17th century, along with some alterations from the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. The building features a timber frame with painted brick and rendered infill, and it has been extended with painted sandstone ashlar. The roof is tiled, and the layout is L-shaped, with ranges extending to the south (from the early 17th century) and to the east (from the late 17th century).

The north front of the farmhouse includes a gabled timber range to the right, a porch located to the right of center, and a stone range to the left. The building has two storeys with an attic that is lit by a window in the gable. On the first floor, there is a three-light stone mullioned window to the left and a canted oriel window in the porch. The ground floor features a blocked single-light window to the left, a four-light stone mullioned window, and a blocked entrance at the front of the porch, with a 20th-century casement window to the right. The porch is close-studded with straight braces supporting a substantial jetty over the stone ground floor, and the cross-wing has four square panels high.
