Description

Finstall House is a mid-18th century house with alterations from the late 19th century, and restored in 1985. It is constructed of brick on a sandstone plinth, with a tile roof. The house has a parallel range plan, aligned north-east/south-west, with a wing extending north-east from the east corner.

The south-east front, which serves as the main entrance, has two storeys above a cellar, with a gabled dormer in the attic. There are three windows, consisting of two 3-light casements and a 2-light casement to the right, all with segmental heads. The ground floor features two 3-light casements, and an entrance to the right with a 19th-century glazed timber porch. The entrance itself has a moulded wooden architrave, a radially glazed fanlight, and a door of six raised and fielded panels. A lower range to the right has a single storey and an attic with a gabled dormer; this section contains two windows - a 2-light casement to the left and a canted oriel to the right.
