Description
Tutnall Hall is a country house dating from the early 18th century, with later rebuilding in the early 19th century and alterations in the mid-20th century. The house is constructed of brick with stone dressings, and has hipped slate roofs. It is three stories high, with a moulded stone cornice and three bays divided by giant Doric pilasters. Stone bands run across the ground and first floors. The fenestration is arranged as 2 + 3 + 2 windows, featuring boxed glazing bar sashes under rubbed brick heads with stone keystones linked to the stone bands. The second-floor sashes are of a lower height, and the ground floor features a central entrance with a pilastered wooden doorcase, a moulded cornice, and a door of four flush panels. Inside, a staircase from the early 19th century has a ramped handrail, stick balusters, and turned newels.
