Description
Lock number 52 on the Worcester and Birmingham Canal was built around 1805 and has undergone some repairs in the late 19th century and mid-20th century. It features a rectangular chamber with stone copings, although some areas have been repaired with brick and concrete. There is a single gate at the upper end and a pair of gates at the lower end. The mouth of the lock is constructed of blue brick with brick copings and includes steps on the north side. This lock is noted for its group value as it is part of the Tardebigge Flight, which is the longest in England.
