Description
Lower Park Farmhouse is an early 17th-century timber-frame farmhouse with brick infill and a tile roof. It has undergone alterations in the late 20th century. The house is arranged in a T-shape, consisting of a two-bay cross-wing aligned north/south and a three-bay range extending east, with a central stack and a baffle-entry. The south-facing garden front has the cross-wing on the left, displaying two storeys and an attic with gable windows. It features one window, a top-hung casement, and a ground-floor C20 three-light casement under a C20 pentice roof. The main range to the right has two storeys and three windows, all C20 top-hung casements. A central entrance is sheltered by a lean-to porch, flanked by pentice roofs covering two three-light casements. The timber framing is three square panels high to the first floor, while the ground floor was likely originally close-studded. The interior was not inspected but is believed to be of interest.
