Description
Beoley Hall is a country house, now converted into flats. It was likely built in the early 18th century and remodelled in 1791 by the architect John Sanders for Thomas Holmes, with later alterations in the late 20th century. The house is constructed of stuccoed brick with hipped slate roofs. The basic design is an "H" shape, with a two-story east cross-wing added by Sanders. The east front features a moulded cornice to the parapet, which is adorned with a garlanded urn in the centre. There are slightly raised quoins and a band to the ground floor, and three windows, all with glazing bar sashes. The central window is set within a semi-circular recess, while the ground floor windows are flanked by pairs of windows with tripartite sashes within segmentally-headed recesses featuring Pompeian relief medallions. A porch with four Doric columns supporting a balustraded balcony provides the main entrance. The right-hand return front has two alcoves containing classical urns at ground floor level.
