Description
Barton Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-17th century, with mid-19th century and some mid-20th century alterations. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill and a machine-tile roof. The building has an L-plan layout, with wings extending to the west and south. The western wing consists of two framed bays and has a gable-end stack. The north front has two storeys and three windows: two 2-light casements are on either side of a single-light casement. On the ground floor, there are two 3-light casements flanking a central entrance, which is topped by a gabled tiled canopy supported by wooden brackets, leading to a half-glazed door. The framing is visible on the first floor, consisting of three square panels high, and the gable truss features four struts to the collar and V-struts in the apex.
