Description

No. 83 Church Street is a shop that was formerly an apothecary, built around 1810. The building is made of stuccoed brick and features a parapeted roof. It has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high. The top parapet is adorned with a bust of Aesculapius, along with a snake and torch, and has angle pilasters. The contemporary shop front includes fluted pilasters and a top entablature, with fluted rounded angles leading to a small-paned window. The entrance on the left has an overlight above it. On the first floor, there is a horned 12-pane sash window. The left side of the building has a cornice at the right end and displays varied fenestration.
