Description
Nos 5 and 6 Victoria Terrace are a mirrored pair of houses built in the early 1850s by Henry Farrington. They are constructed of brick with painted stone and stucco dressings, topped with a hipped slate roof that features overhanging bracketed eaves. The houses stand two storeys tall and have chamfered quoins on the ground floor. Each house consists of three bays, with timber canted bay windows on the ground floor. The first-floor windows are 8-pane sashes, adorned with architraves, sill bands, and cornices supported by console brackets. The doors, located in the middle bay of each house, are framed by round-headed surrounds beneath Ionic porches with pilaster responds. There are chimneys situated between the houses and on the end walls. Originally known as Hatherton Lake Villas, these houses are noted for being a complete example of a planned development.
