Description
15 and 16 Lichfield Street are two offices built in the early to mid-19th century. The building is made of stuccoed brick and stands two storeys tall. The facade facing Lichfield Street features five bays. The ground floor has channelled rustication, with paired pilasters between the bays and a moulded cornice above. There is a plain band with a blocking course above the first floor. The windows are sashed with glazing bars in the upper sashes. The first floor windows have alternating floating cornices and pediments, although there are inappropriate 20th-century shutters present. The right-hand bay on the ground floor includes a late 19th-century canted bay window. The doors in the second and fourth bays have architraves and pediments supported by consoles, with the left-hand pediment partially obscured by a mid-20th-century Tuscan porch. The left-hand return wall, which faces Hatherton Road, is treated similarly and consists of three bays. The right-hand bay is set back, and the left-hand bay is set back only on the first floor. The central bay features an original single-storey canted bay window.
