Description

Rushall New Hall is a house built around 1700, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick and topped with a tile roof, standing two storeys tall. The upper storey is painted black and white to mimic timber-framing, situated above a brick string course. Several former openings have been blocked, resulting in an irregular spacing of the windows. There are blocked windows between the first and second bays, the fifth and sixth bays, and the seventh and eighth bays, with additional blocked windows on the ground floor of the sixth and eighth bays. The current windows primarily feature timber mullions and transoms with glazing bars. The main entrance is located in the fourth bay, sheltered by a timber lattice porch, while a second door with a segmental head is found in the seventh bay. The house has chimneys on the gables and to the right of the second bay. The rear and left-hand return walls incorporate part of the limestone curtain wall from the earlier Rushall Hall.

Inside, the main doorway leads into a two-storey entrance hall that includes a balcony and staircase, which were created in the 19th century. To the right of the hall, the kitchen features a large plastered inglenook and two boxed ceiling beams. At the right-hand end of the house, there are exposed chamfered beams, including one on each floor about one metre from the gable wall.
