Description

This is a row of nine houses, now partly used as offices, built in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a slate roof. They are arranged over two storeys and nine bays. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars and stone sills. The ground floor windows have stone lintels with decorative, false stepped chamfered voussoirs. The second, fourth, and eighth bays project forward, each with a doorcase featuring engaged composite columns with acanthus detailing and cornices with a blocking course. The doors, accessed by external stone steps, are six-panelled and topped with fanlights featuring iron glazing bars. A carriage entrance is situated in the sixth bay, featuring an elliptical arch with chamfered voussoirs and a keystone. Chimneys are positioned on the gables and to the right of the second, fourth, and seventh bays.
