Description
Berkswell Windmill is an early 19th-century tower windmill located on Windmill Lane in Berkswell. It is constructed of red brick and features a wood and metal boat-shaped cap. Although two sails are missing, the windmill remains intact both internally and externally. The structure has a circular plan and consists of three storeys with battered walls and small windows set under cambered arches. Inside, it contains an endless-chain drive, wooden and iron shafting and gears, under-driven stones, and various bins and other fixtures. This windmill is recognized as the most complete example of a west midlands tower mill.
