Description
The Vicarage in Balsall is a building that was rebuilt or remodeled in 1836, originally dating back to the 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and has old tiled roofs. The structure features two storeys and attics, with the south-west front facing the almshouse courtyard. This front is distinguished by two square turrets that flank a recessed center with a coupled gable. The windows are casement style, equipped with glazing bars, mullions, and transoms, and have plain surrounds. Notable architectural elements include prominent red brick chimneystacks and a cupola over the turret on the right. The Vicarage serves as the Master's House of the Almshouses. It is part of a group that includes the Church of Saint Mary, Templars Hall, North East Range, South West Range, Entrance Gateway, and side walls at the Lady Katherine Leveson Hospital, as well as Temple House.
