Description
Temple House is an early 18th century red brick house with a rectangular plan. It features a hipped old tiled roof with three dormers and stands two storeys high with attics. The facade includes five tall narrow sash windows with glazing bars and keystones. The porch is adorned with stone Ionic pilasters, an entablature, a parapet, an inset pediment, and ball finials. The door is framed by a stone architrave surround, and the eaves are moulded in stone. The house dates from around 1736. Temple House is part of a group that includes the Church of Saint Mary, Templars Hall, the North East Range, the South West Range, the Entrance Gateway, and the side walls at the Lady Katherine Leveson Hospital and Vicarage.
