Description
The Towpath Bridge at Birmingham Canal is a Grade II listed structure located approximately 640 meters southeast of Radbone Lane. It was built during the widening of the canal in 1827 and carries the northern towpath over a disused branch of the canal. The bridge is made of cast iron and features brick abutments with stone dressings. It has a single elliptical arch, with each side composed of two castings that are bolted to a central keystone. The design includes pierced saltire crosses and a band of quatrefoils below the handrail. There is an illegible inscription in the southwest spandrel.
