Description

The Station Road Bridge spans the Titford Branch of the Birmingham Canal and likely dates from the opening of the branch in 1837. The bridge was widened on both sides in the later 19th century. It is constructed of brick and cast iron. The outer sections of the bridge consist of girders that span the canal and support brick jack-arches. The soffit of the earlier part of the bridge, which is visible from the canal, is made of cast iron and features six segmental arched ribs that are bolted together at their crown.
