Description
The Tilted Barrel Public House is a mid-19th century building located on High Street in Princes End. It is constructed of brick, with the front rendered and painted, and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays. Above the ground floor, there is a timber entablature. The ground floor includes canted bay windows in the second and third bays, although all ground floor windows are mid-20th century replacements. The first floor windows have architraves and a sill band, with the left-hand window being blind and the others being sashed. There is a door situated between the second and third bays. The building has chimneys that are set forward of the ridge, located on the left side between the first and second bays, and between the second and third bays. The structure has been affected by mining subsidence, causing the left side of the facade to sink significantly, resulting in a noticeable lean in the left-hand bay and gable wall.
