Description
The Unitarian Chapel, built in 1796 on the site of an earlier chapel from 1707, is constructed of red brick. It features a front gable with a central projecting bay topped by a slender two-stage tower with a slated spirelet. The doorway is set in a deeply-recessed surround with a semi-circular head, and it has a four-panelled divided door along with a panelled wood tympanum. There is one window on either side of the doorway, each set in an arched recess with a keyblock and interlaced 'Y' glazing bars. The returned sides of the chapel each have five later plain leaded light windows. The building is finished with brick modillion eaves and a slate roof.
