Description
Cradley Heath Public Library is a public library built in 1908 by Wills and Anderson. It features red brick and yellow terra cotta with a hipped slate roof and is a single-storey building. The facade has a four-bay arcade with brick round arches, chanelled rustication, and concave surrounds. Each window consists of two lights with an architrave, a central mullion, and a cornice, above which are fanlights with iron glazing bars. The door is located in the third bay. Above a modillion cornice, there is a balustrade adorned with urns, and the central section is solid with the inscription "Public Library." A foundation stone notes that the library was a gift from Andrew Carnegie Esq. The left-hand return wall has three main bays and features intermediate windows with architraves.
