Description
The Dudley Number 1 Canal Towpath Bridge, built in 1858, is a cast iron bridge located approximately 50 meters east of Woodside Bridge. It features rusticated stone-dressed brick abutments and capstones, along with brick wing walls. The bridge has a single shallow arch, with its sides pierced by saltaire crosses. It is inscribed with "Horseley Company Tipton 1858" and has a ridged plate deck. This bridge spans the eastern end of the Two Lock Line, which connected Dudley No. 1 and No. 2 canals, providing a shortcut around Blowers locks.
