Description

The canal footbridge at Delph Locks is a Grade II listed structure made of cast iron. It features a single span that is slightly cambered and has latticed balustrades. The bridge was cast in 1858 at Horsley Iron Works in Tipton. It spans a disused branch at the side of the canal basin and is supported by a brick ramp and abutment at each end. This footbridge, along with the Canal Stables at Delph Locks and Delph Locks themselves, forms a cohesive group of historical structures.
