Description
Enfield Hall, built in 1856 by F W Fiddian, was formerly the Edgbaston Vestry Hall. The building is constructed of red brick with mostly painted stone dressings on a blue brick battered plinth and features a slate roof. Designed in a Norman style, it is single-storeyed and consists of 9 bays that are divided by narrow pilasters, arranged in a rhythm of one broad, one narrow, five, one narrow, and one broad. Each of the outer broad bays has a round-headed door flanked by one order of columns, with an oculus above on both sides. The narrow bays each contain one round-arched window, while the five central bays have coupled round-arched windows with nook shafts. The building is adorned with ornament roll-moulds featuring interlace and some ball flowers, and it has an elaborate brick bracketed eaves cornice.
