Description
Roving Bridge (Number 110) is a cast iron bridge built around 1844, located over the entrance to the Grand Union Canal at Salford Junction in Aston, Birmingham. This bridge, of the Horseley Ironworks type, features a slight camber and is constructed from two single castings. It has plain, pierced parapets and bolted cast deck panels. The abutments are made of brick and stone dressed, while the ramped approaches have been rebuilt. This section of the Birmingham and Warwick Junction Canal was opened in 1844.
