Description
The Birmingham and Fazeley Canal Aqueduct, built in the mid-1780s, is located just south of Salford Junction. This brick aqueduct features seven low elliptical arches with stone voussoirs. The structure includes stone cut waters against shallow brick buttress piers that have battered sides. The abutments are swept out and topped with saddle back stone coping along the parapet.
