Description
The lock at Witton, located north-west of the bridge on the Tame Valley Canal, dates from around 1840. It features a narrow design, with brick lining and stone dressing, and has curved and swept entrances. The lock includes both conventional double and single gates. It is part of an important grouping with the nearby road bridge and the Keeper's Cottage.
