Description
Lock Keeper's Cottage Number 79 at Witton, located on the Tame Valley Canal, dates from around 1840 to 1850. This two-storey building is constructed of red brick, featuring burnt brick rusticated raised quoins. It has a hipped slate roof topped with heavy conical chimney stacks. The front of the cottage is slightly asymmetrical with three bays, and it includes 2-light casements set in chamfered reveals. To the left, there is a small canted bay window with iron glazing, and the doorway also has a chamfered reveal.
