Description
The Royal Hotel is an 18th-century building located on the west side of High Street. It is constructed of red brick and features a stepped gable with a stone cornice moulding at the roof. The hotel has two storeys and attics, with seven sash windows that are set under keystones and segmental lintels. There are stone stringcourse mouldings present. The entrance has a door surround with fluted pilasters and a pediment. The central three-window section slightly projects and has a stone-coped gable with an attic window. To the left, there is a 19th-century wing that has nine round-arched windows on the stucco-faced ground floor, along with archivolts and a moulded band on the first floor.
