Description
The Gunmakers Arms is a pub and former residential building located at 92 Bath Street in the city centre, dating from around 1820. Originally a corner block of three houses, it has been converted into one house and a pub. The building stands three storeys high, with a rendered and coursed exterior, and features corbelled eaves and a half hipped slate roof.
On the upper floors, there are three windows, while the ground floor retains one surviving window. The first-floor windows are revealed glazing bar sashes, adorned with stucco heads and flanked by small consoles with cornices. Number 93 has an architrave doorway with rounded corner blocks. The pub door, which was originally part of the house, features architrave moulding and console brackets. The corner pub front is well-preserved, showcasing a small mid-19th century design with pilasters and an entablature that bows around the corner, along with a one-bay return and a two-storey wing.
