Description

The School of Horticultural Training, located in Kings Heath Park, is an early 19th-century building that has been altered over time. It features a stuccoed exterior and a slate roof. The structure has five bays, with the central bay slightly projecting and one bay recessed. The ground floor includes two windows and a door set within a closed porch, which is supported by coupled Tuscan columns and features an entablature and blocking course. There are three additional windows on this level. A plain band runs along the first floor level, with a moulded band at the first floor sill level. The first floor has six tall sash windows with glazing bars, all set in moulded frames. The ground floor windows are adorned with elaborately bracketed cornices. The building also has a moulded band at the first floor ceiling level and a moulded and dentilled eaves cornice. To the right, there is a 19th-century greenhouse with iron arched windows and elaborate foliagework in the spandrels. On the left-hand return, there are two bow windows that extend through both storeys.
