Description
Numbers 36A and 37, known as Wellesley House, along with the screen into Waterloo Court, date from around the 1850s and have been altered over time. The building is constructed of stucco and stands three storeys tall with four bays. The ground floor is completely plain, featuring an entrance leading into the courtyard and two windows. In front of this, there is a slightly projecting screen or portico supported by square piers and five fluted columns with Egyptianate capitals. The entablature is adorned with acroteria. The first floor has four windows, while the second floor features four almost square windows, which are separated by rudimentary coupled pilasters and have a heavy band below them.
