Description
Kingsthorpe, located at 40 Wake Green Road in Moseley, is a building constructed in 1911, designed in the Arts and Crafts style. It is made of brick, featuring some tile and pebble work, and has a tiled roof with tall chimneys, with the left chimneys set diagonally on a square base. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with the outer bays having asymmetrical gables and the central bay being taller with a shaped gable.
On the ground floor, there is a shallow bow window, a five-light casement window, and an entrance recess that is supported by Tuscan columns, which also hold up a balcony. The first floor includes one four-light casement window, one five-light casement window, and one three-light casement window. All windows feature leaded lights and mullions, with one window also having a transom. The shaped gable displays a band of brick diaperwork with a central brick-framed panel.
