Description

This is a group of eight semi-detached houses, numbered 12 to 26 Richmond Road, dating from around 1840. The houses are constructed of brick and have slate roofs. Each house has two storeys and three bays. The ground floor arrangement is a window, a door, two windows, a door, and another window. The front doors are accessed by steps, feature panelled reveals, and rectangular fanlights above. The sash windows have glazing bars and are topped with cornices, with shallow pediments above the ground-floor windows. A bracketed and dentilled eaves cornice runs along the roofline. Numbers 12 and 14 have doors topped with cornices on volute scrolls. Numbers 16 and 18 have doors originally with shallow pediments, though these may have been altered, and a dentilled moulded eaves cornice. Number 20 has a central first-floor window that has been altered. Number 26 has a rendered, two-storey, single-bay lean-to extension at the rear.
