Description

The Church of St Michael, located on St Michael's Road in Handsworth, was built in 1855 by W Bourne. This large sandstone church features ashlar dressings and includes a chancel, aisles, nave, west transepts, and a south-west tower with a spire that was added in 1868. The church is designed in a competent Decorated style and is situated on a prominent hillside site within a well-timbered former churchyard. The tower serves as a notable landmark in the area.
