Description
The railings and gate piers to Broadway Comprehensive School, located on Whitehead Road, date from the early 20th century. The railings feature plain spikes and are set on dwarf walls with standards topped by ball finials. The gate piers are constructed of red brick with rounded corners and are adorned with terracotta friezes that include scrolls, cornices, and smoothly domed caps. The gates have a rusticated ironwork base, enhanced by Art Nouveau-style beaten leaf decorations on the dograils and the overthrow.
