Description

No 20 Slack Lane is a Grade II listed building, likely dating from the early 16th century. It has been divided into cottages, with the hall being ceiled in the early 17th century. This building is part of the Handsworth Old Town Hall, which was modernised and reconstructed in 1947 to create two dwellings. The structure is timber-framed with exposed crucks on the returns, featuring brick infill and a half-hipped tile roof on the right side. It has one storey plus an attic, with two ledged doors. The windows consist of casements, including three large and two small on the ground floor, and there are four gabled dormers in the roof.
