Description
11 Church Road is a house built around 1936, showcasing a Scandinavian brick modern style. It is two storeys tall with a symmetrical front featuring a battered plinth made of low bricks laid vertically. The entrance is accessed by three large broad polygonal stone steps, flanked by a pair of blue Art-Deco vases. The door has a pattern of fielded panels set within a brick entrance that has a splayed picture frame surround. Above the entrance, there is an elliptical glazed canopy with green metal sides radiating from an elliptical hub. The ground floor has tiny square windows that are deeply recessed in brick-on-edge surrounds. The first floor features two very tall narrow windows with green shutters. There is a brick-on-edge frieze and a parapet with stone coping. To the right, a quadrant wall links to a formal hedge with elaborate iron gates. On the left, there are a pair of garages with elaborately panelled doors. The interior remains unaltered and matches the exterior design.
