Description
The gatepiers and walls to Number 11, located on Church Road in Edgbaston, date from around 1850, with the top section rebuilt around 1936. They are constructed of red brick, featuring projecting pilaster strips on a blue brick plinth, and stand approximately 8 feet high. The top is adorned with a frieze made of brown bricks laid on edge and has moulded stone coping. The gateway has a convex curve, with stone plaques displaying the number in Roman numerals, followed by concave curves from the 1936 alterations, which include battered plinths made of long bricks laid vertically. The gate piers are designed in an elongated octagonal shape, with their long sides decorated with fielded panels made of moulded bricks, matching the plinth and coping of the walls.
