Description
The Church of St Mary is a parish church located in Haseley. It dates back to the 12th century, featuring a nave with a south doorway from around 1200. The nave includes one north window with two round-headed lights, while the other windows are 17th-century straight-headed four-light mullion windows. The chancel, built in the 13th century, has a gabled bay window on the south side with a four-light stone mullioned window and a three-light ovolo moulded wood mullion window in the timber-framed gable. There is also a late 19th-century Perpendicular three-light sash window and a late 19th-century Norman style south porch. The west tower is in the Perpendicular style, featuring an embattled parapet, two-light bell-openings, a stair turret on the southeast corner leading to the belfry, diagonal west buttresses, and a three-light Perpendicular west window above the doorway. Inside, the church has a wagon roof, box pews, and a Perpendicular octagonal font. The west window contains stained glass, and there is a monument to Clement Throckmorton from 1573, which is a tomb chest.
