Description

No. 42 Castle Hill is a 18th-century building that shares its structure with No. 40. It features a whitewashed brick exterior and is topped with old tiles. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a first-floor band and a corbelled cornice. On the ground floor, there are two canted bay windows from the 19th century, with the right window serving as a shop window adorned with colonnettes, both topped with cornices. The first floor has two 19th-century sash windows set beneath stucco flat arches, and there are two gabled casement dormers in the roof. All the listed buildings on the north side of Castle Hill form a group.
