Description
High Beams is a range of cottages dating from around the 16th century, constructed with cruck timber framing and red brick infill panels. The original cruck studs are still visible, and there is a 20th-century imitation cruck structure in the west gable. At the east end, there is a small bay from the 17th century. The cottages have a steeply pitched roof covered with modern plain tiles and feature gabled ends. They are one storey high with an attic and have a total of seven windows. The windows are modern two- and three-light casements with glazing bars. The former front doorways have been blocked with brickwork, and there is a rebuilt brick ridge stack that is off centre.
