Description

This is a late 17th-century timber-framed building, originally a range of cottages, with red brick infill added between the timber framing. The building was extended at the east end using red brick during the 18th or 19th century. It sits on sandstone foundations. The roof has steeply pitched gabled ends; the later addition is covered with plain tiles, while the original section retains wooden shingles. Most of the windows are modern two- and three-light casements with glazing bars, although two original 18th- or 19th-century two-light casements with glazing bars remain on the first floor of number 5. There are two plank doors and three brick chimney stacks.
