Description
The Old Mill House is a large timber-framed cottage dating from the 17th century, featuring brick infill panels. It has been heavily restored and has a steeply pitched plain tile roof with gabled ends. The house is one storey with an attic. On the first floor, there are three gabled dormers and two gables with finials, all fitted with casements that have leaded panes. The ground floor has modern casements with leaded panes and a recessed porch beneath the larger of the two gables. At the east end of the north elevation, there is a single-storey modern extension with a gable that has four lights. The cottage also has a large brick chimney stack on the west end of the south elevation, along with two other brick chimney stacks. Inside, the house features timber-framed partition walls, with some wattle and daub retained in the internal partitions, chamfered ceiling beams, and an Inglenook fireplace.
