Description
Firs Cottage is a 17th-century building that has been converted from two houses into a single dwelling. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill set on a brick plinth, topped by a steeply pitched thatched roof. The roof has a brick stack at the front of the ridge and a coursed rubble and brick end stack. The cottage has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with a two-window range.
The entrance is located to the right of the centre and has a 20th-century door. On the ground floor, there are windows with two-light small-paned casements, which include iron opening casements. The first floor has two similar windows and one raking dormer with a matching casement. There is some brick repair visible at the left corner of the building. The right side has a large external stack with offsets to the front and right, along with a diagonal brick shaft. The left side features a window on each floor. At the rear, there is a 20th-century brick wing with a tiled roof. The interior has not been inspected.
